Michelin-Star Dining on Waiheke: What to Expect
Inside a full day built around one extraordinary lunch.
3 April 2026 · Luca Bianchi · 5 min read

A starred lunch is not a rushed meal squeezed between tastings. It is the centre of the day, and everything else should be arranged around it.
Book the table first
Tables at the island's best rooms go weeks ahead. We build the itinerary backwards from the reservation, not the other way around.

Taste lighter before lunch
Two restrained morning tastings, whites, rosé, a young syrah, keep your palate awake for the pairings that matter.
Give the afternoon nothing to do
After a three-hour lunch, the right plan is a viewpoint, a slow drive and the ferry home. Do not schedule ambition after dessert.
